REPRESENTATIVE CORTVRIEND HOSTS “TALKS WITH TERRI” WITH SPECIAL GUEST SETH MAGAZINER, RI GENERAL TREASURER

PORTSMOUTH, RI – Representative Terri-Denise Cortvriend to host her #29 “Talks with Terri” this Wednesday, July 29th starting at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom. The topic of discussion will be RI State Finances.

Suggested questions and information include: What is the State of the RI Economy? What is the state of our State Pension System? What is the progress on the School Construction Plan? Details on CRI Infra-bank Local Businesses Go Green Program. Current details on the New Small Business Grant Funding. What are your ideas on building a more sustainable and equitable economy and how to pay for them?

Rep Cortvriend asks participants to bring their questions and a cup of coffee of tea and join in the conversation. Questions may also be submitted in advance during registration.

Cortvriend has served as District 72’s RI State House Representative for the past two (2) years, and is running for re-election. She is a long-term Rhode Islander, mother of Savanna Cortvriend, graduate of Portsmouth public schools. The Founder and CEO of Ocean Link, Inc. (a marine trade business in Melville), Cortvriend has been a small business owner and employer for over 30 years. She also served ten years on the Portsmouth School Committee, four (4) years as chair. Terri has also served as a Board Member of the Newport Chamber of Commerce, and as both Chair and Vice-Chair of the Portsmouth Tank Farm Redevelopment Advisory Committee. She serves on the Restoration Advisory Board for Naval Station Newport, and on the IYRS Marine System Program Advisory Committee. She was elected and served two terms on the Portsmouth Water and Fire District Advisory Board. Cortvriend served on the Portsmouth Economic Development Committee, and on the Portsmouth Charter Review Committee. Cortvriend is proud to be a long-standing member of the Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee.
